The MAME Control Panel, Version 2.0 (CPv2)
Like I said, probably the most important part of the project: the control panel.
Doing it right makes it feel like it's 1982 all over again. The first time, I didn't do
it exactly right. This time, it's better.

After I completed my first control panel, I did notice that I installed the joysticks
incorrectly. Also, I wasn't happy with the ones that I ordered (the EuroStick from
WICO). So, I ordered two "old fashioned" ball stick, leaf switch joysticks. I was
pretty happy with the layout--for the most part--so I kept it as is. I nudged over
the spinner a wee bit, and move the P1 and P2 buttons, but that was pretty much it.

It's amazing how much you learn the first time through. This time the finished
product was almost perfect. Leaf sticks can be a little finicky, but I think
they are worth the look and feel.
