Anatomy of a MAME Cabinet
Here's a good overall picture of what all is in the cabinet.

Everything is plugged into the main power strip in the rear. The
cord sticks out the back. And, just
like in a real arcade machine, when you plug it in, the machine
starts. I have it automatically running Arcade@Home on boot.
The marquee (hopefully I will be replacing it with a marquee I am
designing) lights up with a light I bought at home depot. It's a
nice little touch. I'm working on a way to get the coin mechs to
light up too.

The keyboard PCB is mounted on the inside, near the control panel.
Speaking of which, the control flips forward to provide access
to the controls. (If you've never seen a real arcade machine unlocked,
this is common feature. It allows the operate easy access to
the mechanics.) There are several control buttons directly under
the CP which are somewhat hidden from the user.
The monitor is a 19" noname SGVA. It works very well for raster
games, and is pretty good for vector ones. It tilts back approximately
45 degrees. Luckily, this monitor has on screen deguassing, and
tilting the monitor has not yet been a problem.
